Small Art, Big Gifts: Holiday Shopping Right Here in Fort Collins

Before you start scrolling for holiday gifts, try this instead: drive to Donella Court, park for free, and walk into a room full of original art made by your neighbors. 100 Square Inches of Art 26, our 8th annual juried exhibition of small works, is on the walls at 3 Square Art now through Sunday, December 20, 2026.

If you're one of the many people who tell us, "I've lived here ten years and never knew this was here," this is the easiest possible excuse to come see.

Why Small Art Makes a Great Gift

The rule for this show is simple: every piece has to fit inside 100 square inches or less. That's about the size of a 10-by-10-inch square (3D artists get an extra 10 inches of depth). Inside that limit you'll find color, shape, figures, portraits, and abstracts, each one packing a big idea into a small space.

Small works fit on a bookshelf, a desk, or a crowded gallery wall at home. They're a thoughtful, one-of-a-kind present, or a first piece for your own collection.

Made Right Here in Northern Colorado

The show includes 44 finalists, and most of them are local. You'll find work by artists from Fort Collins, Timnath, Loveland, Erie, Boulder, and Colorado Springs, alongside artists from across the country, from Idaho and Utah to Florida and Maryland. Several are artists who also work in studios right here in our building. The exhibition is curated by Kumiko S. McKee, 3 Square Art Co-Founder, Curator, and Gallery Director.

Buying an original work supports the artist directly and helps fund future shows and community programs at the art center. Pieces are available to purchase in person at the gallery during gallery hours, Thursday to Sunday, 1–5 pm.
