Theme: From Shards to Art—Broken Plate Mosaic Art

Cost: $75 - 3 Seats Left!

Description: Picassiette is the art of using cut or broken plates originated in France and translates to “plate picker” or “plate thief” using recycled broken plates, left-over ceramics, pottery, and glass to make a mosaic work of art. If you’ve ever visited Parc Guell in Barcelona, you’ve experienced this type of mosaic art firsthand. The park is covered with beautiful, broken pieces of ceramics, glass and stone set on beautifully designed structures by Antoni Gaudi, the famous Catalonian architect. You’ll learn how to nip plates so that the most beautiful designs on borders and centers are preserved and then combined to create a three dimensional feast for the eyes. This class is available for intermediate to advanced mosaic makers.

Materials Needed: All materials are provided, however, feel free to bring Grandma’s china or other memorabilia to include in your design.
