Founders
Kumiko S. McKee
Co-Founder I Gallery Director & Curator
Kumiko is a co-founder of 3 Square Art and Gallery Director / Curator for the McKee Art Foundation. She leads the artistic and curatorial direction of the galleries and oversees the development of the Foundation’s permanent collection, including acquisitions. 3 Square Art began with her vision in 2017: a working arts center where artists have studios, the public encounters serious contemporary art, and a lasting creative community can grow.
Born and raised in Japan, Kumiko earned a B.F.A. in painting from the University of Wyoming. An award-winning contemporary realist artist, her work has been exhibited internationally, including through the International ARC Salon at Sotheby’s New York and at the Museu Europeu d’Art Modern (MEAM) in Barcelona. Her experience as both an artist and curator informs her approach to exhibitions and to building the Foundation’s permanent collection.
Craig McKee
Co-Founder I President
Craig is a co-founder of 3 Square Art and President of the McKee Art Foundation, the 501(c)(3) private operating foundation that operates as 3 Square Art in Fort Collins. He sets the Foundation’s broader institutional direction with Kumiko — including its expansion and work in Florida — while remaining actively involved with the Fort Collins center.
Born in Albuquerque, he earned an associate degree at Northwest Community College and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Kenyon College. He lived and worked in Japan for four years and later worked as a graphic designer in Tokyo and Phoenix. As an entrepreneur, he built companies in development and decorative concrete. He is also an artist and teacher. 3 Square Art was opened in 2017 as a plaza for artists to work, show, and teach.

Lisa Hatchadoorian
Fort Collins Director
Lisa Hatchadoorian is Fort Collins Director of 3 Square Art, effective September 8, 2026. She leads day-to-day operations for the gallery, studios, classroom, and gift shop, while guiding the center’s first phase of growth: more studio space, a larger gallery and gift shop, and a one- to two-year art school with a certificate path.
She brings more than twenty years in museums, public art, teaching, and nonprofit leadership, including nearly twelve years leading the Museum of Art Fort Collins. She holds a B.A. in Art History and Music from the University of Virginia and an M.A. in Curatorial Studies of Contemporary Art from Bard College. Fort Collins is home.
