The NOOBAA 26 Exhibit at 3 Square Art is a celebration of Non-Objective Art, where artists venture beyond the realm of representation to explore the fundamental elements of shape, line, color, and form. Unbound by the constraints of the familiar, these innovative compositions exist solely for their own sake, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in pure abstraction and discover new realms of visual expression.
Non-Objective Art is a testament to the power of abstraction, as artists experiment with the language of visual expression to evoke deep emotions and sensations. Drawing inspiration from pioneers like Wassily Kandinsky, whose masterpieces "Composition VII" and "Yellow-Red-Blue" exemplify the expressive potential of non-objective abstraction, contemporary artists continue to push the boundaries of this captivating genre.
In the tradition of Kandinsky, artists like Piet Mondrian embraced Neo-Plasticism, advocating for visual harmony through geometric purity and primary colors. Mondrian's iconic compositions, with their intersecting lines and fields of color, embody this quest for balance and order.
Color Field painters like Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman delved into the emotive power of color, inviting viewers to experience immersive chromatic realms. Rothko's radiant canvases transcend the physical, inspiring contemplation and introspection.

Submission Instructions
1) Select the number of images you would like to submit
2) Press the “Submit Entry Fee” button and you will see a form to enter your contact information and pay the entry fee.
3) AFTER completing payment for the entry fee, you need to EMAIL your images with information to submissions@3squareart.com (We do not have an online form to submit the images so they must be sent manually by email. Please use only one email if possible). Please note the following formats:
✅ Please include Artwork Information for each image including:
Title
Medium (For example: Oil, Aclylic, Watercolor, Graphite, Charcoal, Mixed Media, Fiber Art, Digital Art, Sculpture, Printmaking, Photography, and etc.)
Dimensions (include BOTH artwork size AND framed size for framed artwork)
Year Created
✅ Image File Naming: Name your image files in this format => FirstLast_Title.jpg. Please do not include any other information in the file name.
✅ Image Size: Images should be less than 5MB each with the longest edge ideally 1800 pixels or more and not less than 1600 pixels
✅ File Format: Save your images in .jpg format

Eligibility
The NOOBAA 26 Exhibition is open to artists who are at least 18 years old (by the time of entry) submitting original works of art created within the past 3 years.
Non-Objective Abstract Art Only—Pure Abstraction. Representational art or art with recognizable objects will be rejected.
Each artist may enter up to 5 artworks.
The competition welcomes ALL media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, printmaking, textiles, and digital art.
Artworks must be have been created in the past 3 years; any artworks completed before November 24, 2022 will be disqualified. The Entry Fee is non-refundable.
The enclosed entry/entries must be original work, independently created, composed and executed.
No copies from other artists' works or paintings/drawings from other artists' photographs or from published material will be allowed. Source material must be original.
Artwork that previously exhibited at 3 Square Art Gallery are NOT eligible to submit.
