About

Welcome to 3 Square Art Studio 206

I am a Studio /Plein Air painter who is happily engaged in the fine art of painting. Traveling along trails and riverbanks, I can catch nature’s vantage points on canvas. Painting alongside fellow plein air painters makes this pursuit all the more enjoyable!

Working in a 3SquareArt studio gives me a place to carve and explore everything on my artistic plate.  Large landscapes, commissions, portraiture, and encaustic printmaking are among my pursuits.

Professional Background

My art training began at a very young age because of my mother’s commercial art training and professional life as an artist. I was immersed in the arts throughout our household life.  She had us picking up a paintbrush as we learned our alphabet.

I graduated with a B.A. in Fine Arts Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1978 and went on to teach for the Poudre School District as a K-12 Art Specialist. I earned an M.A. from Leslie University in 2009.

My life as an artist, after retirement, has taken me to Santa Fe, NM, where I worked with encaustic artist Paula Roland. My work was exhibited at Aims Community College as a guest artist during Loveland’s Fire and Ice Celebration. My encaustic scrolls and paintings are in many private collections.

I joined the PAAC group of Northern CO Plein Air Painters in 2024. I participated in the Steamboat Springs SAM Annual Plein Air Art Event and Exhibition. I continue to work from my 3Square Art Studio and continue to paint with plein air painters in Northern Colorado.

I have exhibited at Aims Community College, Steamboat Art Museum, Thompson Valley Art League’s Lincoln Gallery, and the 3Square Art Gallery.
